A Little Bit About Us
Hi, let me tell you a little about us, myself and my son Lachlan. My name is Eleanor and I am owner and webmaster of learn-spanish-with-ease. Throughout the site you will get to know Lachlan as he has been my learning buddy over the last few years. He will be giving his opinion and views on courses for kids learning Spanish.

Lachlan is 4 years old now (October 2008) and has been learning spanish since he was 8 months old. How, I hear you ask, can you teach a baby of 8 months old? Well click away on this site and you will find out. We will discuss which methods we have used, what works and what doesn't, but most important of all which products are worth spending your hard earned cash on.
5 years ago I dicovered to my joy that I was pregnant and while flicking through a parenting magazine I found an advert for a collection of Spanish DVD's for children and from there I decided I would learn with my baby. For me, learning with a little one has had me jumping around like a mad woman, singing Spanish songs while trying to read the words from the books. A great deal of fun ...I've ended up with sore cheek syndrome on numerous occassions due to the copious amounts of laughter produced...Fun Fun Fun, it's what it's all about!
The concept of bilingual children is widely publicised with regards to the benefits of kids learning a new language, one of which being the enhancment of cognitive development. This site is in the early stages of development so please return frequently to find articles on bilingualism.

Over the last few years I have used DVD's, CD's, Spanish nursery rhymes, childrens' Spanish songs, grammar books, subtitled movies and much much more. One of the interesting thing I discovered about us was our different learning styles, especially Lachlan's as he was developing and learning. One of the most beneficial experiences for me was visiting Spain. By holidaying in a part of Spain that had retained much of the original customs and culture and was not too heavily hit with tourism I found my Spanish improved greatly, my spoken Spanish and my understanding of i also.
We have had a huge amount of fun and met some lovely people on our journey. When we felt we had overload then it was time to head off to Spain to get in the thick of it, so to speak... And you can't beat mixing with native speakers although not necessary as there are many fantastic products out there no matter which level you feel you are at.
