Learn Spanish For Kids

Succeed with learn Spanish for kids by keeping everything fun and inventive.  This is especially important in the early years to keep the little one's attention.  Even 10-15 minutes per day can keep the momentum for both of you.

Over the past few years I have had to be very, very inventive and stretch my imagination to the limits.  I found the best way to do this was think like a kid.  Here is a small list of the things I have done to keep the fun in kids Spanish.

Flashcards

  • Put up flashcards around the house on items such as sofa, chairs, refrigerator, windows, tv, radio and doors.
  • Use flashcards onto items in the little one's bedroom, especially toys..they love to know how to say 'car'  or dolly eg in Spanish.

Bathtime

Bathtime is a really  fun way to incorporate kids Spanish into everyday life.

Getting Dressed

Another good time to speak Spanish.  It is easy to learn Spanish..for kids all it takes is a basic knowledge of everyday items of clothing such as 'pantalones', 'camiseta', 'gorro', 'bufanda' eg.  There are a few good cd's to teach kids Spanish with songs about getting dressed.

Spanish Amigos

If possible it is a fantastic idea to find native Spaniards to hang out with.  Kids learn so much from other kids and what better way to learn Spanish than from another kiddie.  I have been in the company of my 5 year old with a Spanish speaking kid and it is amazing how much they chat, it starts off in Spanglish but doesn't take long before they are both understanding each other.
