Learning Styles, Which One Are You?
Each and every one of us have preferred learning styles, (also referred to as modalities or preferred intelligence). We all learn in different ways, by filtering information according to our preference. Before embarking on any new venture it is beneficial to be aware of yours. We may prefer one (our domimant modality) over the others but we usually do unconsciously integrate all three into our experiences.
There are three clear modalities most popular across the population. To gain a clearer understanding of yours click on one of the list below.
All within the group refer to VAK (Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic). If you can identify yours then your Spanish language learning will be greatly enhanced.
It is commonly believed among researchers that our preferences are forced upon us from an early age. This can be from parenting, pre-school education and school years. It is during this time in early life that we choose one, combining the other two when trying to retain information. By identifying yours then you will help to successfully filter information. One example of this would be enhancing memory skills.
If, when you are looking for a course or programme to help with your Spanish and you have a strong gut feeling that it would suit you then do not disregard the feeling as intuitively you are connecting with the method best for you. When I began I was oblivious to the fact that my own methods of taking in information were related to those more common to kids..(some of us never really grow up!) More fun for us I reckon, think back to the joy of learning through song and play when you were little, still works a treat as an adult!
For the purpose of beginners, intermediates and advanced I have given the information relating to the 3 most common however, feel free to check out the section on kids as there are many of us who are, for example, musical (found in many kids) amongst other things.

There is a seperate section for this information regarding children. Psychologists and researchers list many more types for children. If this interests you then go to kids learning styles.
