Sleep Learning...Is It Possible
I believe so. Sleep learning is a concept described as learning new information while you are asleep. The filtering of the conscious mind can place blocks on learning, however when you are asleep those blocks are non-existent. When you are sleeping your unconscious mind is more open to suggestion, new ideas and information. Perfect for the busy people among you who want to learn Spanish while you sleep. Those hours you spend sleeping can be turned into positive, productive learning hours!
When I first began experimenting with this I would play an audio learn Spanish CD quietly in the background as I was falling asleep. In the beginning it felt rather strange as I like quiet and stillness but with perseverance and a strong motivation to learn it became a regular thing for me. I preffered to have a cd playing for around 45 minutes but experiment yourself to find out what suits you best.
As a little experiment I began playing a particular Spanish CD to my son when he was asleep. I played it very softly in the background (I let him fall asleep to it) for a couple of hours. After a few months when we were on an online dictionary together going through a lesson he began answering questions. Most of the answers were not anything we had learned together then I realised he was translating confidently the words from the CD I played while he was asleep. A great example of how to learn Spanish while you sleep. I can confidently bang on about the benefits of learning spanish while you sleep as it is the only CD we have which teaches those particular words!
