These branches are theexecutive branch that implements laws, the legislative branch thatmakes laws and the judicial branch that settles disputes arising fromthese laws. ’ legislature comprises of two chambersan upper chamber which is known as the Senate and the lower chamberor the House of Representative. The president is the country’stop-most executive with the Supreme Court being the highest court.

Besidesbeing the country’s top most executive, the president appoints thechief justice. ’ current president is Benigno AquinoIII. The second top-most executive is the vice president andcurrently the position is held by Jejomar Binay. In Philippine, theVice President succeeds the president in case the latter isincapacitated such as through resignation, impeachment or death.However, in case the position of the Vice President becomes vacant,the president has to appoint one of the members of the Congressalthough the person has to receive a 75% Congress support. As far asjudicially is concerned, Maria Sereno is the serving chief justice.Other leaders include Paquito Ochoa the executive secretary, JuliaAbad the chief of staff, followed by the various secretaries to thedifferent ministries.
